Wasn't really planning to do much today - poss go down to Weston for the demo day, but the wind forecast was naff (BIG MISTAKE, aparently!!).

Anyhow, Nigel phoned me at 09:00 suggesting a ride at Cwmcarn. Meant I had to get a move on 'cos I'd taken the forks off to clean out/regrease the headset cartridge bearings.

So we got to Cwmcarn about 13:00 with concerns about the return trip judging by the number of West Ham- & Preston- clad cars heading to Cardiff.

Cwmcarn was busy, but the MTB trail was fairly clear. The trail was in brilliant condition with practically no mud.

After reahcing the 1st picnic area, we headed off into the wilderness to do an extra loop with some very "interesting" downhill bits. Great fun except that I missed the trail head & we dropped down a fair way on forest track before picking up the trail further down.

This brought us right back to the ranger/car payment hut - most of the way down the bottom, so we had to climb all the way back up again. Pretty knackered by now, esp. after yesterday's ride, too.

Rest of the trail was classic Cwmcarn; good conditions, good weather AND NO PUNCTURES!
